The heart of the Grand Bazaar dates back from the Ottoman Empire's conquest of Istanbul and constructed during the era of the Sultan Fatih Mehmet in 1456-61.
The bazaar is a labyrinth of passageways and corridors that include 64 streets, 4,000 shops, 22 entrances and 25,000 employees. The bazaar is very popular tourist destination at the historical peninsula of Istanbul. There are wide range of goods including jewellery, antiques, leather goods, ceramics and the famous carpets.
